Egypt. In the introductory section of the epistle, the Others are described as people who were long ago written into this κρίμα (krima, “judgment”) (v. 4). This is the first mention of judgment. In the main body of the epistle where Jude develops his examples and links the Others to them, the theme of judgment is prominent both explicitly and implicitly. Those who did not believe (v. 5) were destroyed; the angels (v. 6) who did not keep their proper place are kept by Jesus7 for κρίσις (krisis,
